Go into surgery with your body and brain at their best.
A chance to sit down one-on-one with a board-certified anesthesiologist before surgery. With advanced training in precision medicine, Dr. Madani offers an in-depth conversation and personalized guidance to help you feel more informed and supported.
Surgery is a planned stress test. Most people never get to prepare for it.
Standard pre-op clearance asks whether you are safe to proceed. Optimization gives you time for a more personalized conversation about preparation and recovery. This program brings together your health history, individual concerns, and planned procedure to identify where additional physician guidance may be valuable.
Dr. Madani is a board-certified anesthesiologist with advanced training in precision medicine. Her anesthesiology background brings direct experience with how surgery and anesthesia affect the body, and what the operating room and recovery period demand. That perspective informs a personalized approach to preparation and recovery, working alongside—not replacing—your surgeon and anesthesia team.
Personal attention before and after surgery
An in-depth consultation
- Time to understand your health, your procedure, and what matters to you. Ideally, we begin 6–8 weeks before surgery.
Personalized physician guidance
- In-depth preoperative lab work with physician interpretation, a preparation plan tailored to your needs, and a check-in visit for ongoing support.
Working alongside your team
- A shareable clinical summary to support communication. Your surgeon and anesthesia team remain in charge of your procedure.
Continued support
- A recovery visit to discuss how you are feeling and your individual follow-up needs.
More than routine clearance
A more complete picture
An in-depth physician assessment that considers your health history, concerns, and planned procedure together—not just a checklist.
Preparation that fits you
Individualized guidance informed by your clinical findings, priorities, and the demands of your upcoming surgery.
In-depth preoperative lab work
Included in-depth lab work with a one-on-one physician review to put your results in the context of your health and upcoming surgery.
Body and brain readiness
Attention to physical wellbeing and cognitive health as part of a coordinated approach to preparation.
Clear communication
A personalized clinical summary you can share with your surgeon and anesthesia team, with your permission.
Support beyond the first visit
Pre-surgery follow-up and a recovery visit, so you have an opportunity to discuss concerns as your needs change.
Care that considers your body and your brain
Feeling like yourself after surgery matters. Cognitive wellbeing can be part of your one-on-one conversation with Dr. Madani, with personalized assessment and guidance discussed in your private consultations. This is an optimization program. Outcomes are not guaranteed.
Your concerns deserve attention
Questions about mental clarity and recovery are an important part of your pre-surgery conversation.
Personalized cognitive support
Your individual needs guide this part of your care—not a one-size-fits-all set of exercises.
An anesthesiologist's perspective
Dr. Madani brings her understanding of anesthesia and surgical care to the discussion of cognitive wellbeing.
A conversation that continues
Your recovery visit offers time to discuss changes or concerns and whether further evaluation is appropriate.
Optional add-ons, chosen case by case
Gut health testing
Antibiotics used around surgery can disrupt the gut microbiome and affect digestive function. For selected patients, testing after surgery may help guide individualized care, based on symptoms, history, and clinical assessment.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Hyperbaric oxygen may be considered for selected clinical indications in coordination with your surgeon and a hyperbaric medicine specialist. Suitability and the treatment plan are individualized; it is not routinely recommended for every surgical patient. Sessions are available through a partner clinic and are scheduled and paid for directly with that clinic.
Recovery-supportive therapies
For some patients, and only with surgeon agreement, we may consider additional therapies to support inflammation and healing. These are not offered to patients with a known or suspected cancer diagnosis.
One package, clearly priced

Book a ConsultationFrequently asked
Does this replace my surgeon's or anesthesiologist's pre-op evaluation?
No. This program works alongside your surgical team. Your surgeon and anesthesia team make the final decisions about your procedure, medications, and timing. With your permission, we share our findings with them.
Why 6–8 weeks?
Starting early allows time for an individualized assessment and follow-up before your procedure. If your surgery is sooner, contact us to discuss whether the program is a fit for your timeline.
Is this only for plastic or cosmetic surgery?
No. It is useful before orthopedic, abdominal, gynecologic, bariatric, spine, and other elective procedures.
Will insurance cover this?
This is a self-pay program and is not billed to insurance. Labs are included in the core package. Ask your plan administrator whether HSA/FSA funds can be used.
